about

The Flock combines influences from jazz, chamber music, and Balkan folk music. After years of studying the above styles and living in Bulgaria, Teddy's compositional versatility and ability to organically combine multiple genres and musical cultures are showcased in this unique record.

All of the music on this album was composed during Teddy Raven's three month residency as the 2016 Make Jazz Fellow in Santa Monica, sponsored by the Herb Alpert Foundation and the 18th St. Arts Center. The completion of this album would not have been possible without generous support from both organizations.
